Information

The environment is a flow experience; it builds on the continuing self-construction of the child daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly for the duration of the program. It is an uninterrupted series of learning passages, a continuum based on Maria Montessori’s theory of the three planes of Development the social, physical, and intellectual functioning of the child. At Greenhouse Montessori we believe “The successive levels of education must conform to the successive personalities of the child.”

SALIENT FEATURES

The application of the following features will be affected due to pandemic and dengue fever protocol.

Assembly Presentation:

Arriving on time is extremely important for a child even at young age. Teachers greet and interact with the child gently and calmly, settling them for the day ahead. Students are selected in a sequence to present each day during the assembly. This is done because presentation skills create more confidence in the children and enable them to express themselves.

Music class:

Periodical Music classes are held for singing of familiar short poems, rhymes, songs, and stories with repeated patterns. It enables children to communicate and express themselves non-verbally and with their actions, it helps to improve their academic performance by enhancing their mathematics skills, literacy, and overall brain development.

Art Activity:

Art is a way for children to express their feelings and thoughts, through art activities children develop their fine motor skills. 

Children are provided an open-ended environment for art and craft activities by using different types of art tools to let them express their imaginative mind and creativity, children work to develop self confidence among them, it helps to maintain focus on the process not the product.

Garden Time:

To encourage role play and allow interaction with their peers by caring and understanding of the plants, causes and effects, causes of death without watering and sunlight, achieving goals and enjoying the food they have grown.

Reading Books:

Kindly refer to the respective syllabus or booklist issued at the time of admission or transfer.

Award:

The student will get the souvenir in the start of the month for the ‘Regular student’ or ‘Punctual Student’ if any student was present and punctual for the whole month.

Syllabus:

Syllabus will be issued at the time of admission or on shifting to the next environment.

Physical Education:

To teach patterns, and observation skills related to the knowledge of movement, it helps to enhance gross motor skills, co-ordination, and self confidence, with the understanding of cooperation, team building, team-work and good sportsmanship.

Quran Class:

Learning of different Duaa related to everyday work including eating & sleeping, Kalmas, short Surahs and Islamic stories, it encourages exploration and understanding of Islam and respect for all human beings.

Home work:

Occasionally subject wise worksheets will be given for practicing at home.

Montessori activities helps children to enhance their skills at home to perform better in their everyday life. Guidance will be provided through our YouTube channel that have homebased Montessori activities.

Child’s recorded activities conforming school policy can be shared with us to get uploaded on our social media pages.

Lesson Time:

During this period children are taught according to the subject such as  Mathematics, Language, Science and Culture.

Material Working:

A child will be allowed to work independently with Montessori materials which includes Exercise of Practical Life (EPL), sensorial, language, culture, mathematics, classified cards and nomenclature cards.

Medical Check-up:

A Doctor will carry general medical check-up once a year. (Optional)

Time-Table:

Kindly Refer to the respective syllabus issued at the time of admission or transfer.

Field Trip:

Children of Junior and Senior environment may be taken on a field or outdoor eating manners trip once a year.

Vacations

In addition to weekends and the gazette holidays, the school will have two major breaks during the year. Summer Vacations Approx. 8 to 10 weeks ( 1st week of June to 1st week of August ) and Winter Vacations   Approx. 2 to 3 weeks ( 3rd week of December to 1st week of January )

Beside the above vacations the Montessori is usually closed on the below listed holidays as gazette by Federal or Provincial government. Islamic dates are subject to appearance of moon.

Rules and Regulations

Office Timings:

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Class timings:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00am to 1:00pm

Friday: 9:00am to 12:30pm

Gate timings:

Monday to Thursday:

In the morning: 8:50 am till 9:15 am,

in afternoon: 12:55 pm till 1:15 pm

Friday:

In the morning: 8:50 am till 9:15 am,

in afternoon: 12:25 pm till 12:45 pm

School Property

Any item or property of school taken by the child should be returned next day.

Birthdays

We discourage ostentatious birthday celebration as it may result into unnecessary competition, if for any reason parents wish to send items for their child’s birthday, they must consult the Front Desk office first, and all eatables must be delivered in person by the parents otherwise such eatables shall be returned from the gate.

Brunch

Parents are advised to follow the meal timetable which they may receive with the admission acceptance letter or send clean and healthy home cooked meal in properly clean lunch box with clean water bottle. No lunch boxes or water bottles will be accepted after gate closing time. 

Cleanliness

Hygiene is most important please keep check on the nails, hair and general cleanliness of your child. The student must be in clean attire, shoes should be regularly polished and school bag should be clean. Induction of new uniform will remain suspended for this academic year.

Contagious illness

Students suffering from contagious disease shall not be permitted to attend the class till complete recovery.

Parents are advised should they see any symptoms of illness regardless if it is communicable or not should seek Doctor’s advise on sending the child to school. In case a child is brought to school with any signs of illness shall be removed from the classroom and parents will be notified for early dismissal of a child. If a child is found to have lice, nits, or pinworms, the child shall be removed from the classroom and parents will be notified.

Holiday Notice

Softcopy notices will be shared via WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook posts for informing parents about scheduled and unscheduled holidays.

Change in address or any amendment.

Any changes in the residential address or telephone, mobile numbers and email address should be immediately notified in writing to the Front Desk Office. All amendment must be notified in writing as we do not entertain verbal request and WhatsApp messages. Kindly quote student number in all correspondence. Even otherwise the request pertains to any matter must be expressed in writing.

Pick and Drop

All drivers of two wheelers and four wheelers are requested to show patience and observe traffic rules on the street facing our main gates, violation of traffic rules will only compound the problem. Your cooperation with our gate staff shall be appreciated. Avoid taking wrong way and park properly in a civilized manner.

Parents/Drivers when driving should;

  • Watch rear view mirror at all times.
  • Avoid sitting in vehicle at road side.
  • Lock all doors and be VIGILANT.
  • In case of emergency/suspicion NEVER PANIC, call POLICE!
  • Avoid crowding at the gate so confusion can be avoided.

You are required not to wear helmet or any similar head gear which hampers identification during pick and drop of your child.

Mode of Communication

Parents are strongly advised to email us or provide the written application duly signed by parent or legal guardian for any queries as we do not entertain verbal request or WhatsApp message due to record keeping. Kindly quote student number in all correspondence. 

Armed Guards

No arm guards or any kind of fire-arms or sharp metal objects are allowed near the gate or inside our premises. Armed guard in plain clothes or in uniform can be mistaken as an armed intruder given the security situation in the city.

Photography

All kind of photography or filming of the premises is strictly prohibited unless permitted.

Academic Year

Academic year starts from August and ends in July. Usually we observe 190 to 205 academic days in 365 days in a year. For any reason we fall short of our threshold of academic days in that case SATURDAY shall be utilized for make-up class after duly notifying to parents.

The change of academic year depends on the notification by the Government of Sindh.

Use of Mobile phones

Use of mobile phones and other cellular device is prohibited during school hours.

 

Smoke Free

Our built up premises is a non-smoking environment.

CCTV

Our premises are under 24 hours CCTV surveillance.

Independent Transporters

Parents who seek transport services kindly keep in mind of following:-

  1. Van registration number.
  2. Van owner/driver’s name, cnic number, cell number and driving license.
  3. Vehicle fitness certificate.
